The innovation program for Restless students
A nine-week creative enterprise program for high school students.
Choose your next step
Building a business or venture will tell you more than any careers night. You’ll get the mentors, the industry context and the real experience to work out a path that actually suits you, instead of choosing a degree and hoping.
Immerse yourself in industry
Our secret sauce is 100% real world and industry learning. That means founders in front of you every week, meeting investors and pitching to judges from across Australia who can back your ideas.
Accelerate your job-readiness
By the end, you’ll have a business idea, an early-stage pitch, a mentor, and something real to put in front of an employer or a university. That holds whether you go to uni, explore new careers or decide to go all-in on business.
How does it work?
Every part of the Young Artists Centre is built to turn your creative passion into a real local business, from learning how to price your work to selling it at your first market. It's hands-on, it's practical, and it's designed to help you earn from what you love.
Practical business skills for creatives
Learn the side of creative work no one teaches you. You'll cover pricing, finding customers, building your brand and managing your money, all through live workshops with other young makers.
By the end, you'll know how to turn what you make into something people pay for.

Coached by founders, investors and operators
Work alongside an artist or entrepreneur who has already built a successful business. Get honest feedback on your work, ask the questions that matter and learn how they made it pay.
You'll leave with advice from someone who has walked the path you're on.

Your first stall and a live auction
This is where your work meets the world. You'll run your own market stall and exhibit your pieces alongside other young makers, finishing with a live auction in front of your community. For many, it's the first time someone pays for something they made, and it's the moment everything changes.

Retail opportunities at centres and festivals
We help connect you with partner shopping centres, markets, and festivals offering retail space and opportunities to sell your work.
Spots depend on availability, but we open these doors for our makers as often as we can. Your income stays local, and your community gets to buy from young makers in its own backyard.

Microgrants to keep scaling (cohort-specific)
Eligible participants can receive a grant to cover supplies, equipment and startup costs. It's money to buy better materials, set up your stall or build your first website, so the only thing holding you back is what you make next.

Problem Solving
Finding practical solutions with confidence.
Students learn to break a challenge down before building anything, testing what they assume against what customers actually tell them. Most discover that the problem they started with wasn't the real one.

Questions we get asked
Find quick answers to the most common questions about our programs, process, and learning experience.
Nope. You don't need an idea to begin, just an open mind. We'll guide you to spot a real problem and shape it into something worth building. You will need a team of three to take part, so grab a couple of friends to get started.
We believe learning should be hands-on, and even fun. Each week has a learning milestone that builds toward your real business, like developing your business plan. You'll submit six checkpoints across the program, each reviewed and graded by our team of assessors, who give you genuine feedback along the way.
We're committed to making FutureHack accessible. We consider needs-based support using measures like a school's ICSEA score and low-income status, so places may be available for students who need them. Get in touch to find out more.
Yes. Every student who successfully completes the program receives an official Certificate of Completion, issued by Future Minds Network and an accredited Australian university. It can also count toward recognition of prior learning, meaning academic credit toward a future degree, depending on your study plan and each university's course rules.
