Our Funding
The Future Minds Fund gives young people money to build the thing they’ve been planning. No equity, no repayment, no need for a registered business.
The first grant is for the things standing between you and a working version: materials, tools, software, a licence, a stall fee or a first production run.
- Paid as a grant, not an investment. We take no equity.
- Nothing to pay back, whatever happens next.
- You tell us what you spent it on and your progress. That is the only reporting.
A second grant of up to $1,000 for recipients who used the first one and have something to show for it. Traction can be customers, users, a signed order or a finished prototype.
- Apply 6- 12 months after the first grant.
- Same form, plus what changed since the first grant.
- Not automatic, and not getting it does not close the door.
What the money can go towards
Written plainly so you know before you apply, instead of after.
- Materials, stock and equipment
- Prototyping, manufacturing and a first production run
- Software, hosting, domains and subscriptions
- Registrations, licences, insurance and permits
- Market stalls, events and getting to them
- Marketing, packaging and essential launch costs
- Paying yourself a wage
- School fees, course fees or tuition
- Paying off existing debts
- Crypto, trading or anything speculative
- Projects run by someone other than you
- Costs incurred before receiving the grant

We read it
Every application is read by our grants panel. We may email you one or two questions if we need more information.
Money lands
If it is a yes, funds are transferred directly to you. If it is a no, you get a reason and can reapply.
Show us what happened
A short update on what you spent it on and what happened next. That update is also your follow-on application.
