Young people
& COVID-19
COVID-19 disrupted life as we knew it — from classrooms to offices, and everything in between. But while the world paused, young people didn’t sit still. We partnered with them to listen, build, and connect. Through research, virtual innovation, and global programs, we created spaces for youth to lead through uncertainty and design the future.
Hacking
COVID-19
At the height of COVID-19, we led a place-based consultation with young people across Australia to understand the real impact of it on their lives.
Hacking COVID-19: Youth, is a youth-led report, offering a sharp, grounded view of what they experienced during the crisis. It explores:
Key social and economic challenges faced by young people
The emotional and mental health toll of prolonged disruption
Practical, youth-generated solutions for recovery and long-term change
We believe that designing better systems starts by listening. And this report does just that — created with young people, not just about them.
Hack the Crisis Australia
Over 48 hours, young people across the world came together online to build solutions that could improve life, health, and wellbeing during COVID-19. It wasn’t just about ideas — it was about action.
Virtual Community
& Events
Over 18 months, we ran free, virtual programs that reached thousands of young people across Australia, the UK, US, Canada, Estonia, and Asia-Pacific. What started as a crisis turned into a global movement. Together, we:
Helped young people build apps from their living rooms
Connected them to employers through virtual networking nights
Created joyful moments with dance-offs, community chats, and real friendships — all on Zoom
In total, we delivered over $100,000 worth of programs pro bono — because young people needed connection, and we showed up.
